Contact

Flytta Sweden is a small independent project run by one person, so there is no ticketing system, no live chat, and no support team behind this page — just an inbox that is read.

Who you are writing to

Everything on this site is built and written by Harith Jayawardana, who moved to Sweden as a non-EU work permit holder in 2025 and is based in Gothenburg. The site started as the notes I kept while working out, mostly the hard way, which agency owned which problem and what had to happen before what.

That means replies come from one person around a full-time job, in English or Swedish, and sometimes not quickly. It also means every message is actually read, and corrections genuinely change what the site says.

What to get in touch about

The messages that are most useful, roughly in order of how much they improve the site:

  • Corrections. If a guide is out of date, incomplete, or simply wrong, tell me — feedback from people currently going through the process is the most valuable thing this site receives. Point at the page and say what does not match reality.
  • Gaps. If you hit something confusing that no guide here covers, that is a guide waiting to be written, and the suggestion is welcome even without a solution attached.
  • Bugs and accessibility problems. Broken checklists, lost progress, anything unusable with a screen reader or on a small screen.
  • Questions about the site itself — how it is funded, how the guides are written, republishing something, or press enquiries.

What to expect

I aim to reply to everything within a few days, and corrections to guide content are prioritised over everything else. A correction that turns out to be right gets the guide fixed and its review date updated, with the change dated honestly rather than backdated to look fresh.

If you do not hear back within a couple of weeks, the message has gone astray rather than been ignored — please send it again.

What I cannot help with

This is the important part, and it is not a formality. Flytta Sweden is independent and unofficial, and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or connected to Migrationsverket, Skatteverket, Försäkringskassan, or any other Swedish authority. I cannot check the status of your application, contact an agency on your behalf, submit anything for you, or influence a decision.

I also cannot give legal or immigration advice about your individual case, and would be doing you a disservice by trying. Your circumstances are specific, the rules change, and only the agency deciding your case — or a qualified adviser you engage — can tell you what applies to you. For anything consequential, go to the source. The Resources page lists direct links to every agency referenced on this site. Resources →

How to reach me

Email is the reliable route. LinkedIn works too, though it is checked less often.

Messages are used only to answer you and to fix the site. They are not added to a mailing list, and nothing is ever sold or shared. See the Privacy Policy for how data is handled. Privacy Policy →
